Let our Response be Non-Violence

IMG_1700“But above all these things put on love, which is the bond of perfection. And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to which also you were called in one body; and be thankful. Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom, teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord. And whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him.” (Colossians 3:4-17)

God’s strength is given to us no matter what our circumstances are! His Grace and Holy Spirit Empower in sustaining us in staying the course, steadying ourselves in our Faith, in any trial, in any situation, including what we view on mainstream media outlets, or the chaos and violence being spilt in our streets across American and in other parts of the world.

We who Know God, Know we have a Father who is with us in our Now. We Know He will Never leave nor forsake us. We Know it is He who walks in and with us each moment in All the seasons of our lives. We who Know Him, have an inner calm, a residing peace undergirding us by His Love that fills us an ability to weather any news of world turbulences, or distress in our streets. This does not mean the images or happenings are not affecting us, but it does mean they do not move us in responding in a likewise manner.

We have Full Assurance, no matter what happens in our world, He is the one who gives us a reason and purpose to continue to move forward. We find our mission to be one of serving others outside of our own selves and we Know it is He who has chosen us to accomplish good works in His name. We are vessels filled by His Fullness, to let others Know there is an alternative pathway we can take in relating to one another through non-violent means; this is the way of the gospel, of Christ’s teaching, of showing forth the manifestation of His Love in our own lives, and actively spreading it with all of whom we interact with.

We who have an intimate abiding relationship in Christ, are His Holy agents, commissioned to go into the world, reaching and touching cold hearts; of the poor, the lost, the lonely, the homeless, the widows, everyone, with the warmth and spark of His Holiness, so that they will Know Him through us.

If we will continue in abiding in Him, remaining steadfast in seeking those things of a spiritual nature, practicing the disciplines of our Faith, Christ’s Heart will take up residence in our inner beings, and He will become the object of our affections in all our life. Then, our focus will be centered in Him, and as we lift Him up in our lives, it will be He that will draw all persons to Himself. It will be Christ’s Love in us, that will be as a magnet, Radically transforming our world, one person at a time, through a gospel focused approach.

In our persistence in continually developing our spiritual maturity, we will be able to walk in ways that will make a difference in the lives of those we find ourselves relating with. We will be able to respond differently then those antagonized, or entrenched in reacting angrily, or violently, and we will show forth words, deeds and behaviors that exhibit peaceful responses, filtered in and by Christ’s all encompassing Love.

As we continually turn our hearts towards Him, making Christ Preeminent in our lives, worshiping Him as Lord of Lords, King of Kings, we become continually transformed, taking in, putting on Holy attributes and Godly traits in the deepest core of our hearts, of which the greatest one is Love. It is His Love that changes us, so that we can offer Christ to others, so they too can enter into union with the one who created and designed us to live in Compassionate Loving ways with one another.

The intimacy discovered in Christ is supernaturally experienced in a living reality in the lives of those who walk in Union with Him! It is this Supernatural Power at work within us that gives us ability to walk in His ways in all seasons of our lives, no matter what we are facing in this life, and no matter what is presently occurring in the world.

We each have a responsibility as adults to make this world a better place through our words, actions and behaviors, along with the endeavors we participate in. We each can be the spark needed to radically transform our part of the world. When we choose to respond with kindness, nicety, and respect, we take the higher road in honoring one another by spreading acts of non-violence in our part of the world.

When we remain fixed in our responsive approach to others, through peace, in our shared humanity, seeking to build bridges, searching for ways to open pathways of meaningful communication, we are maintaining our roles in helping to teach others ways of relating that show non-violence.

We as adults, realize, we all live in an interdependence with one another, sharing our weaknesses, along with our strengths, for a few years on this earth, and in order for us to create sustainable communities, we need to learn the art of working together, reaching towards those opportunities, that we can become involved in, to make a difference in the lives of those we interact with, which will have a domino effect in our outer lying communities.

We need to be the adults in this world and forge relationships with those in our neighborhoods in an earnest desire to create resilient families, build stronger communities, and forge organizational networks with those persons willing to take the steps necessary for us as a people, to discover sustainable solutions that will give us a way of uniting as a people, through peaceful means.

Let us consider our ways and responses to those in this world. If we seek Peace, let us be Peace. If we seek Compassion, Let us be Compassionate. If we seek Love, let us be Loving.

We who have been given Mercy, let us show Mercy. We who have been Forgiven, let us show Forgiveness. We who walk by Grace, let us extend Grace to all we encounter.

Let us each seek to Be the change needed in our world and see lives radically transformed in and through Christ’s Love, one person at a time!
